When I was growing up I was praised for my creativity.
Friends and family praised my writing, music, and photography. One day I graduated from high school. That’s when they started in on me with the “real job” comments. Apparently I had to go to college and get a “real job” to make a decent living. It was okay to be creative as long as I did it on the side.
So I got a college degree and I got a “real job.”
My real job and career path had little to do with my college degree. I was successful. I was creative on the side, which I’m sure kept me sane, but today I have little to show from my “real jobs.”
One of my most valuable “real job” experiences I retained was writing.
I’ve written memos, e-mails, policy manuals, letters, articles and more. Communication is a key requirement when you’re working in a corporate business environment.
You might be surprised how much creativity is needed to solve problems in a work environment. I thrived on it.
Now, after all those years of “real job” experience, I’ve decided to get back to my creative roots.
I’m turning my creativity into my “real job.”
I can use my creativity and real job experience to help other people. And I can encourage people to embrace their creativity again and use it to enhance their lives.
Do you need help with your writing needs? I may be able to help you. You can find out more about my writing services here.
God created us to be creative.
He made us in His image and He is, after all, the Creator. When we deny our creativity we’re denying a key part of ourselves—who we’re created to be.
We’re living in a time where we have amazing opportunities. It’s a great time to pursue creative passions. I want to put my creative gifts to work and see what happens.
What about you? Are you ready to get back to your creative roots?
I’ve created this website to inspire and encourage you to go after your creative passions. Find some joy and hope as you write, paint, make music, dance, decorate cakes, or whatever your creative heart loves to do.
I invite you to join me here. Come along for the ride. Think out of the box a little bit. Be intentional and make your creative talents and gifts part of your lifestyle, maybe even your new business.
Create, inspire, encourage. You can change your world and you might inspire someone else to do the same!
